Effective date: October 9, 2026Website: https://shoretalents.com

ShoreTalents ("we", "us", or "our") operates a Caribbean jobs and talent marketplace that connects skilled professionals with permanent roles, freelance projects, internships, and remote work opportunities across the Caribbean and its diaspora. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

By creating an account, posting a job, submitting an application, or otherwise using ShoreTalents, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, information generated as you use the platform, and information from third-party services you connect. The types of information we collect include:

Account & Authentication Data

  • Job seekers: Full name, email address, password (stored as a hash), country, and account role.
  • Employers, recruiters, and agencies: Full name, email address, password, company name, and account role.
  • Sign-in with Google: If you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us to create and authenticate your account.
  • Email verification: A verification code is sent to your email address to confirm ownership during registration.

Job Seeker Profiles

When you create a talent profile, you may provide:

  • Profile photo, headline, summary, and city/country.
  • Work experience (company, job title, dates, descriptions), education, skills, certifications, and languages.
  • Portfolio links, resume/CV uploads, and an optional video introduction link.
  • Availability status, preferred job types, expected salary range, and willingness to relocate.
  • Diaspora status and profile visibility setting (public, employers only, or private).

Your profile visibility setting controls whether and how your profile appears in employer talent searches. Information in your profile may be shared with employers according to your visibility choices and the platform's functionality.

Employer & Company Profiles

Employers, recruiters, and agencies may provide:

  • Company name, logo, banner image, industry, company size, and founding year.
  • Headquarters and office locations, about, mission, culture, and "why work here" content.
  • Office photos, employee testimonials, benefits offered, and social media links.
  • Company website and careers page URL (used for optional automated job syncing).
  • Agency specialties and service areas (for agency accounts).

Job Postings & Applications

Job postings may include job title, description, requirements, responsibilities, benefits, salary range, skills, location, work arrangement, screening questions, skills assessments, and application method.

Job applications include:

  • Your name, email, photo, headline, cover letter, and resume/CV.
  • Answers to screening questions and skills assessment results.
  • Application status history, interview scheduling details, and offer information.
  • For Typeform-based assessments, a link to your assessment results and any score recorded by the employer.

When you apply for a job, the information you submit is shared with the employer who posted that job. This is a core function of the platform.

Messages & User-Generated Content

  • Messages: The content of conversations between users (e.g., job seekers and employers), including text and file attachments, along with timestamps and read receipts.
  • Company reviews and workplace votes: Reviews, ratings, and feedback you submit about employers.
  • Forum and community posts: Topics, replies, and other content you post in community areas.
  • Event questions and saved events: Questions you ask about events and events you save.
  • Reports: Reports you submit about jobs, messages, or other content that violates our policies.

Uploaded Files

Files you upload — such as resumes/CVs, profile photos, company logos, banners, office photos, job flyers (images or PDFs), and message attachments — are stored by the platform. Some files (like profile photos and job flyers) may be publicly accessible via a URL; others (like resumes and private documents) are stored privately and access is controlled by your permissions and sharing settings.

3. How We Share Your Information

Information you provide in your professional profile and job applications may be shared with relevant employers according to your visibility settings and the platform's actual functionality. Specifically:

  • For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of ShoreTalents, our users, or others.

We take measures to protect your personal information, including access controls, authentication requirements, and platform-level security provided by our hosting and infrastructure providers. Passwords are stored as hashes, not plain text. Row-level access controls restrict which users can read, create, update, or delete different types of records.

However, no system or method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. If we become aware of a security breach, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users where required by law.

To exercise any of these rights, use the relevant features in your account settings or contact us through the Contact page. We will respond to legitimate requests within a reasonable timeframe.

ShoreTalents uses browser storage (local storage and session storage) to maintain your authentication session, remember your preferences (such as preferred currency), and enable platform features. We do not use advertising cookies.

We collect analytics data about how the platform is used — such as page views, job views, apply clicks, and shares — to understand and improve performance. This data is generally aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can manage or disable local storage through your browser settings, though doing so may affect platform functionality.

9. Children's Privacy

ShoreTalents is intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old and for employers seeking to hire professionals. The platform may list internships and entry-level roles, but users must be of legal working age in their country to create an account and apply.
