Assistant Chef / Prep Chef

A restaurant located on Windward Road, Kingston urgently needs an Assistant Chef / Prep Chef for immediate hire. Candidates may be hired on the spot. Only shortlisted persons will be contacted.

The role involves preparing local dishes, pastas, wraps, finger foods, and operating kitchen equipment under proper kitchen management practices. Candidates must be serious applicants ready to work.

• Prepare local dishes including rice, rice & peas, soups, porridge, fritters, etc.
• Prepare pastas, wraps, loaded fries, burgers, and finger foods
• Professionally use and manage kitchen equipment
• Assist with kitchen management and prep duties
• Follow clear instructions and maintain a professional kitchen environment

• Must be a team player
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Must be able to work on own initiative
• Must be punctual and professional
• Must be able to take clear instructions
• Must not be a time waster
• Must have proper time management skills
• Should be able to do some local dishes: rice, rice & peas, soups, porridge, fritters etc.
• Should be able to do pastas, wraps, loaded fries, Burgers, finger foods
• Must be able to professionally use and manage kitchen equipment
• Must have proper kitchen management skills
• Must have previous restaurant experience
• Preferably HEART trained or a well established institution
• Having baking experience a plus
• MUST HAVE VALID FOOD HANDLERS PERMIT and other Relevant Certifications
